On peut partager la discographie de Gnaw Their Tongues en principalement deux genres : le noise black symphonique désespéré et le noise black metal pur et dur destiné à agresser le mental. Eschatological Scatology se situe dans le deuxième camp : c'est déjà un choc visuel avec la pochette et, si quelques "orchestrations" subsistent ("Deepwood Bodytrap", "Master I Am Done"), c'est surtout un choc musical extrême passant parfois dans le doom metal ("The Atrocious Angel of Scatology"). "Il n'est pire eau que l'eau qui dort" s'appliquera bien à Sulfur. Méfiez-vous de Mories quand il cède à la folie, quand il hurle de manière frénétique ; craignez-le quand il ne le fait pas, car c'est tout l'enjeu de cet E.P. centré sur la Première Guerre mondiale. C'est un Gnaw Their Tongues assez ambiant que l'on découvre ici ; Mories lui-même reste silencieux jusqu'à la conclusion "Choke" dans laquelle on l'entend respirer avec peine. Le reste, c'est la propagation sournoise du gaz moutarde.
